Honor is nearing the launch of its highly anticipated Honor Robot Phone after the device received two major certifications in China, indicating that the official unveiling, expected in August, is still on track.
The company first showcased the phone at MWC 2026, touting it as one of its most ambitious devices, highlighting its advanced AI and photography capabilities.
Accreditation certificates pave the way for launch
The new Honor smartphone, model number APH-AN00, has appeared on the Chinese certification platforms MIIT and 3C, according to a report by Gizmochina, which was reviewed by Mobi Alo.
While the MIIT certification didn't reveal any specifications, the phone's appearance on the platform confirms its imminent commercial launch.
The 3C certification, however, revealed that the phone will support 120W fast charging, indicating that Honor is preparing to offer one of the fastest charging systems in the flagship phone category.
Certification platforms typically don't include full specifications, but they are a strong indicator that an official announcement is imminent.
Strong specifications expected
According to the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, the Honor Robot Phone will feature a flat screen measuring between 6.3 and 6.4 inches, with a 1.5K resolution and ultra-thin bezels on all sides.
The phone is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, along with a battery capacity of around 6000 mAh, placing it in the flagship category aimed at users seeking high performance.
200-megapixel camera
Leaks suggest that photography will be one of the phone's strongest features, with the expected inclusion of:
- - A 200MP main camera with an f/1.6 aperture, 23mm focal length, and 4D Gimbal Stabilization.
- - A 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera.
- - A 200MP periscope camera for optical zoom.
The phone is also expected to utilize Honor Ailai Imaging technology to enhance image quality and process scenes using artificial intelligence.
Introduction to the Magic 9 series
According to the same source, the Honor Robot Phone may serve as a platform to showcase new imaging technologies that the company plans to introduce later with the Honor Magic 9 series.
While Honor has not yet officially confirmed these specifications, the phone's recent regulatory approvals strengthen expectations that it will be announced sometime in August, making it one of the most anticipated flagship phones of the second half of 2026.
