The Samsung Galaxy A27 5G has been the subject of numerous leaks over the past few weeks, and Samsung has finally put an end to the rumors by publishing information about it on its official website.
The new device is powered by a third-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 processor, which replaces the Exynos 1280 and 1380 processors found in previous models. The Snapdragon processor comes with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.
The A27 features a modern design with a 12MP front-facing selfie camera. It boasts a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
On the back, there's a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), along with a 5MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. Ironically, the ultra-wide camera resolution is lower than the 8MP camera found on the Galaxy A26. Samsung also reduced the front-facing camera resolution from 13MP on the A26 to 12MP on the A27.
In another surprising move, the A27 has an IP64 rating for splash resistance, while last year’s A26 had an IP67 rating.
As for the battery, the Galaxy A27 retains its 5,000mAh battery and 25W fast charging, just like its predecessor. The new phone runs One UI 8.5 based on Android 16. Samsung promises six Android updates and six years of security updates.
The Galaxy A27 5G is available in black, blue, light green, and pink, with either 128GB or 256GB of storage. Unfortunately, there are no official pricing details yet, but they are expected to be announced in the coming days.
According to a recent leak, the device will start at €349 in the Eurozone for the 6/128GB version, while the 8/256GB version is expected to cost €439.
