Samsung will abandon the phone-color matching pattern for the S Pen
New leaks suggest that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra might be a bit bland, as it appears to be abandoning the traditional S Pen with its matching colors in favor of a more formal design.
Leaked images show the four colors Samsung's upcoming S Pen will be available in, but unlike previous generations, the colors are limited to the clicky tip, which will match the phone's frame.
While these four colors align with some previously leaked S26 Ultra color options, the pen itself will be either black or white, depending on the user's choice, according to a report by tech news site 9to5Google, reviewed by Mobi Alo.
This is a significant departure from previous S Ultra models, whose pens traditionally matched the phone's color.
If true, this move might be a slight disappointment for users, as it would mean the absence of a fully colored S Pen. This move may be aimed at reducing costs, but it seems unjustified given the typically high launch price of the Ultra model.
This is the latest step in the overall decline of the S Pen experience. Last year, Samsung removed stylus support from the Galaxy Z Fold 7, just months after the Galaxy S25 Ultra's S Pen arrived without its usual Bluetooth-enabled features.
While removing color matching might seem like a relatively minor sacrifice, it's hard not to see it as another detraction from a feature that was once a hallmark of the Ultra model.
