Samsung phone users are eagerly awaiting the release of the stable One UI 8.5 update, amid questions about which devices will receive this anticipated update, which is expected to begin rolling out in the coming days.
Although Samsung has not officially announced the final list of eligible devices, it is expected that the update will reach most phones and tablets that previously received or launched with One UI 8.0, according to a report published by Gizmochina and reviewed by Mobi Alo.
Devices expected to receive the update include:
The Galaxy S series, from the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE to the latest Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, including all models in between.
The foldable phones of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 series, along with their predecessors and newer models.
The high-end and mid-range Galaxy Tab tablets, such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 and later.
The Galaxy A series across its various price points, from budget to mid-range phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy A54 and Samsung Galaxy A34.
The Galaxy M, F, and XCover series, which target users seeking performance or durable devices.
This widespread rollout of the update is unusual, as minor versions of One UI have typically been limited to flagship phones. This time, however, Samsung appears ready to extend support to a wider range of devices.
Regarding the release date, the company hasn't yet revealed an official timeline, but based on the progress of the beta testing, the update is expected to begin in late April or early May 2026, with the Galaxy S25 series being the first to receive it, before gradually expanding to other devices.
It's likely that the update will reach flagship phones first, while users of budget-friendly models may have to wait longer before receiving the new version.
