Sales of Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series have exceeded expectations just months after their launch, although there are some indications that pricing considerations are beginning to impact sales.

According to data from Counterpoint Research, sales of the Galaxy S26 series in the first six weeks after its release were 13% higher than those of its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 series, during the same period last year.

The series is performing particularly well in the US and South Korea, where it has seen growth exceeding 10%. However, in China and Japan, S26 sales have lagged behind those of the S25 series, according to a report by Android Police, a technology news website, which was reviewed by Mobi Alo.

This disparity, according to Counterpoint Research, is attributed to the price of the phones, with the base model Galaxy S26 costing $100 more than the Galaxy S25 at launch.

“The Galaxy S26 series has performed strongly in premium markets characterized by high consumer income, carrier-based sales channels, and high consumer acceptance of AI features,” said Sooyoung Lim of Counterpoint Research.

Cost concerns may also affect the US and South Korean markets, where S25 sales have already surpassed S26 sales in the sixth week.

“It remains to be seen whether the Galaxy S26 series can maintain its initial momentum going forward,” Lim said.

The “Privacy Screen,” a first-of-its-kind feature introduced exclusively on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, is considered by reviewers to be a compelling reason to buy.
