Expected release date
Information circulating suggests that Xiaomi may unveil HyperOS 4 during July or August 2026, while the update is expected to begin arriving on current devices starting next October.
Will HyperOS 4 reach devices not supported by Android 17?
It's important to note that Xiaomi has previously released new versions of its HyperOS interface for some devices without updating them to the latest version of Android.
For example, some phones received HyperOS 3 while still running Android 15.
Therefore, even if your device isn't eligible for Android 17, it might later receive HyperOS 4 with some limitations or the absence of certain new features.
What can we expect from HyperOS 4?
Despite the lack of official details, leaks suggest a major redesign of the user interface, significant improvements to graphics and animations, deeper integration of AI technologies, and new enhancements to the photography experience in collaboration with Leica.
As the official announcement approaches, Xiaomi is expected to reveal more details about the new features and the final update plan for supported devices.
