Samsung Unveils New 60W Charger Ahead of the Galaxy S26 Ultra Launch

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be the first Samsung phone to support wired charging speeds exceeding 45W, thanks to the company's launch of a new 60W charger that paves the way for this advancement.

The new charger, called the Samsung 60W Power Adapter (model number EP-T6010NBEGWW), recently appeared in Samsung's online stores in various European countries, including Austria, Sweden, and Romania, as well as in South America (Peru) and some Middle Eastern countries, such as the Levant.

This charger features a single USB-C port and supports Quick Charge 2.0, with a very low standby power consumption of only 5mW. It supports USB Power Delivery at 5V, 15V, and 20V levels, in addition to PPS technology, which allows for voltage adjustment from 5V to 20V at a current of up to 3A. However, it does not support AVS (Automatic Voltage Switching).

In contrast, Samsung’s previous 45W charger (model number EP-T4511XBEGGB) provided a maximum current of 3 amps at 15 volts and 2.25 amps at 20 volts, limiting its power output to 45 watts.

Samsung confirms that the new 60W charger is compatible with smartphones, as well as Galaxy Tab tablets and Galaxy Book laptops. Currently, no Samsung tablet supports charging at more than 45 watts, and the Tab S12 series may be a change in this regard. Galaxy Book laptops already support 65W charging.

For user safety, the charger incorporates multiple protection features, including overheating, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection, along with a noise-reducing design.

This power adapter is priced at approximately €53 in Europe and is available in black only.

Important note: The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to support wireless charging at speeds up to 25 watts, compared to 15 watts in the previous S25 Ultra model. Both the S26 and S26 Plus will also get 20W wireless charging, although the wired charging speed of the basic S26 may not be as ideal as in the other versions.
